Components
Lutein and Zeaxanthin
The Lutein and Zeaxanthin contained in PIXEL ACTIVE HD follow the dosages and standards proposed in the latest ‘AREDS2’ studies on the prevention of maculopathy. Lutein and Zeaxanthin are carotenoids, derivatives of vitamin A, which the human body is unable to synthesise and which must be ingested via the diet. Once taken, they enter the bloodstream and are selectively deposited at the back of the eye, where they act as a protective shield for the retina.

Alpha Lipoic Acid
Alpha lipoic acid is a powerful antioxidant and neurotrophic agent that has shown remarkable efficacy in counteracting the toxic effects on the retina caused by exposure to light.

Phosphatidylserine
Phosphatidylserine, a component of plasma membranes, increases the ability to concentrate during work or competitive stress.
The combined action of alphalipoic acid and phosphatidylserine has shown remarkable efficacy against excitotoxicity from endogenous glutamate release in the retina.

B vitamins
The B vitamins contribute to the health of the vitreous body by reducing the problem of ‘flying flies’ (myodesopias) and vitamin B3 in particular has shown remarkable efficacy in the prevention of glaucoma.

Algae oil
The algal oil, extracted from the microalgaSchizochtriumsp., contains a high percentage of DHA, thus promoting retinal blood microcirculation and reducing the risk of the appearance of drusen, which are the first tangible sign of maculopathy. This oil has a higher concentration of Omega 3 than animal sources, is well tolerated and does not need to be processed.

Copper
Copper contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system, normal energy metabolism and protection of cells against oxidative stress.

Zinc
Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal visual capacity, normal cognitive function and normal vitamin A metabolism. Vitamin C and vitamin E, powerful antioxidants, complete the formulation.
